GRAND SLAM TITLES
2010 Wimbledon vs. Vera Zvonareva 6-3, 6-2
Number 1-ranked Serena employed her superb serve, along with plenty of offense and defense to back it up, overwhelming No. 21 Vera Zvonareva of Russia 6-3, 6-2 to win her fourth Wimbledon title and 13th major tournament overall. The DVD content was recorded from the BBC broadcast of the event, complete with extensive interviews and historical information and footage. John McEnroe and Tracy Austin were both part of the broadcast team.
2010 Australian Open vs. Justine Henin 6-4, 3-6, 6-2
Serena won her 12th Grand Slam title against a game former champion, matching Billie Jean Kings Slam total and climbing to six behind Chris Evert. Williams is halfway to the record for major titles held by Margaret Court, who was at Melbourne Park to present the championship trophy. Serena, all taped up, showed true grit against a formidable opponent by winning the last four games to clinch the championship in just over two hours.
2009 Wimbledon vs. Venus Williams 7-6, 6-2
Serena won her third Wimbledon title, defeating Venus in all three, and taking her 11th Grand Slam title. It was the eighth time in the last 10 years that a Williams sister has won Wimbledon and the eighth Williams vs. Williams Grand Slam final. In the first set, the sisters alternated winning service games, and Serena taking the tiebreak to win the set. They alternated winning their service games at the start of the second set as well, but Serena broke to lead the set 4-2. When Serena held serve to go up 5-2, it appeared that the match was hers. It took a lengthy, hard-fought final game to finally settle the matter.
2009 Australian Open vs. Dinara Safina 6-0, 6-3
Serena demolished Russian Dinara Safina in straight sets to claim her fourth Australian Open title and at the same time assumed the world #1 ranking. Safina double-faulted three times in her opening service game and Williams punished the mistakes, powering through the first with ease. The Russian did break immediately in the second set but continued to struggle on serve and Serena completed the rout in just 58 minutes for her 10th Grand Slam title.
2008 US Open vs. Jelena Jankovic 6-4, 7-5
In one of the best US Open title championship matches in recent years, Serena Williams captured her ninth career Grand Slam title from second-ranked Jelena Jankovic. The final was delayed an extra day due to Tropical Storm Hanna. Although Williams won the contest in straight sets, Jankovic played spectacular tennis and forced the eventual champion to come from behind in both sets. In the aftermatch, Serena regained the top singles ranking, overtaking outgoing number one Ana Ivanovic and Jankovic.
2007 Australian Open vs. Maria Sharapova 6-1, 6-2
It only took 63 minutes for unseeded Serena Williams, who began the tournament ranked 81st in the world following knee surgery, to demolish Maria Sharapova to win her third Australian Open and eighth grand-slam title. Sharapova later admitted that the match was lost in the second game when she dropped serve after leading 40-15. Throughout the contest, Williams simply did not allow the world's top-ranked player to get into her game as balls were continually blasted back past Sharapova with uncanny power and accuracy.
2005 Australian Open vs. Lindsay Davenport 2-6, 6-3, 6-0
The 2003 champion staged a remarkable recovery to beat Lindsay Davenport and win her second Australian Open title. It was Serena's seventh Grand Slam title, and her first since Wimbledon in 2003. A rib injury suffered by Williams in the first set added to the drama surrounding the match, as it hampered her service action. After dropping the first set, the turnaround came after a 3-3 game tie in the second. From there, Serena's game took off while Davenport's seemed to collapse.
2003 Australian Open vs. Venus Williams 7-6, 3-6, 6-4
Serena Williams became only the fifth woman to hold all four grand slam titles at the same time by defeating older sister Venus to win her first Australian Open title. Serena joined court legends Maureen Connolly, Margaret Court, Martina Navratilova and Steffi Graf in this notable accomplishment. She thus added another Grand Slam title to the French Open, US Open and Wimbledon crowns she won last year, all against Venus. The Williams siblings are the first two women in Grand Slam history to square off in four consecutive finals.
2003 Wimbledon vs. Venus Williams 4-6, 6-4, 6-2
Serena earned her second straight Wimbledon crown in a hard-fought three-set match. However, Venus was clearly suffering from the abdominal strain that she aggravated in her semi-final against Kim Clijsters, and played with strapping on her left thigh and her stomach. Both sisters played a bit tentatively throughout the contest, but produced some hard-hitting volleys.
2002 U.S. Open vs. Venus Williams 6-4, 6-3
‘Little sis’ dominated her older sibling in straight sets for her third Grand Slam title of 2002. Venus was the two-time defending U.S. Open champion, and had won 19 straight matches. Serena took full advantage of her sister’s 10 double faults and 23 other unforced errors in a torrid match, in which both pounded the ball and chased down apparent winners.
2002 Wimbledon vs. Venus Williams 7-6 (4), 6-3
The balance of power in the Williams household had clearly shifted to Serena, who won her third straight match against Venus. The first set featured the highest quality play in any recent match between the sisters. The second set, though, was dominated by Serena, after which she supplanted Venus as the world’s #1. It was the third all-Williams Grand Slam final in 10 months, with Serena winning her second in a row.
2002 French Open vs. Venus Williams 7–5, 6–3
Playing as the third seed, Serena steamrolled the field, dropping only two sets en route to the final -- including a victory over top seed and defending champion Jennifer Capriati in the semifinals -- where she defeated sister Venus in straight sets. The win gave Serena her second Grand Slam and improved her world ranking to #2, behind Venus.
1999 U.S. Open vs. Martina Hingis 6-3, 7-6 (7-4)
Serena captured her first Grand Slam at age 17 in only her second year as a pro. The younger Williams sister put on a spectacular display of mature tennis with an all-court attack to become the first black woman to win a Grand Slam title since Althea Gibson in 1958. Pre- and post-match interviews are in English. Match commentary is in German.

2010 Hit For Haiti Exhibition 7-6
In the wake of the devastating 2010 Haiti earthquake, Roger Federer and other major tennis stars raised money for the victims with an impromptu exhibition match on the eve of the Australian Open. The fundraiser, Federer’s brainchild, and dubbed "Hit for Haiti," raised more than US$200,000 initially. The Swiss star teamed up with reigning Australian Open champion Serena Williams and Australia's Lleyton Hewitt and Samantha Stosur. Their opponents were 2009 winner Rafael Nadal, 2008 winner Novak Djokovic, Andy Roddick and U.S. Open champion Kim Clijsters. The players wore microphones on the court, adding to the entertainment of a mixed-doubles match. Federer's so-called Red Team beat the rival Blue Team 7-6 in their one-set match that lasted an hour and a half. The teams were named for the colors of Haiti's flag.
2002 Italian Open Final vs. Justine Henin 7-6(6), 6-4
After suffering a defeat in the previous week’s German Open, Serena took the rematch with Justine Henin to win the Italian Open in Rome. It was Williams' first title on a clay surface. The win set up a Williams sisters final.
2001 Rogers AT&T Cup Final (Toronto) vs. Jennifer Capriati 6-1, 6-7 (7), 6-3
Serena defeated top-seeded Jennifer Capriati in the $1.2 million Rogers AT&T Cup Final. Williams, then 19, prevailed despite a rain interruption of almost three hours and a tense tie-breaker loss to win her second WTA title of the summer, and break a string of four straight losses to Capriati. With the victory, Serena moved up in rank to 10, with Capriati at the #2 spot.
1999 Evert Cup Final vs. Steffi Graf 6-3, 3-6, 7-5
Serena, then 17 years of age, stormed to her second consecutive title, ousting the two-time Evert Cup champion Steffi Graf, denying the 29-year-old a 107th career title. Williams pounded out 35 winners to Graf’s 11. At the close, the German sent a forehand long to give Serena the win. Graf had not lost a final since the 1994 U.S. Open.
